A Bunch of Book Reviews!

LOL! It seems i ran behind when it comes to posting my reviews for books gotten from
bloggingforbooks (A website where you can get some newly released  books for free, all you have to do is post a review on your blog!And for any book worm, like me, free is a wonderful thing! ;)

       So AHEM! Here i go :D

        First off, the oldest one i have received is:

                      Doodletopia: Manga

                                                                         By:CHRISTOPHER HART

You might remember i already RECEIVED a book by Christopher Heart,  His Doodletopia:Cartoons. I must say i enjoyed his first book much better than this one.
When I saw this as an option to get, i was ecstatic to be able to receive another great book by Christopher. His last book had helped me alot in the way of drawing, with lots of step by step pictures... however... his new book is more like an advanced coloring book, and doesn't really teach you how to draw Manga. It still had alot of interesting information in it though!

                     The Drawing Lesson

                                                                                 By:MARK CRILLEY

This book as OK. It didn't really have alot of information about drawing like i thought it would. Also i found the little boy to be a little annoying. Wanting to learn how to draw is one thing, but h followed the lady home. The drawings were very intere
sting to look at, though it didn't really teach much.

                     Natural Color

                                                                     by Sasha Duerr

I was VERY excited when i saw this on the website! They are teaching you what color comes from what plant! It is amazing and interesting! I esp. like that it is a hardback book! And very sturdy!
The book a beautifully photographed guide to the full range of plant dyes available, drawn from commonly found fruits, flowers, trees, and herbs, with accompanying projects. Did you know you could even get an die from Aloe? :D

*I received these books for free from Blogging for Books for this review*

Another Day, Another Hymn

                             ~Be Thou My Vision~

Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Riches I heed not, nor man's empty gain,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heaven's joys, O bright Heaven's Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

My Favorite version of Be Thou My Vision on youtube!

Shalom and may YHWH (God) keep you and your family safe, and filled with his peace that passes all understanding!

Blueberry Cream Pie

Today I made my Daddy's favorite pie... Blueberry Cream :D And i thought i would make a blog post with the recipe and steps to make it :D

                           Blueberry Cream Pie

     3 Cups of Blueberries (I used fresh picked mm!)
     1 Cup of Heavy Whipping Cream
     2/3 Cup of  Sugar
    4 TBS of All-Purpose Flour
    1/4 tsp of Salt
    1 TBS of Lemon or Orange Zest (I used Lemon)
   1 Pastry Pie Crust (Homemade or store bought, i used a store    bought that we had left over from pie making last Thanksgiving)

*Preheat oven to 400°*

Make sure (if you pick your berries fresh) to wash and rinse your berries very well!

After you wash them, you need to lay them out on a clean towel to get the extra water off of them, otherwise your pie will be runny!
After you dry the berries put them in your pie shell and set aside.
Add your Cream,Sugar,Flour,Salt, and zest together in a bowl

And whisk well, try to get all the lumps out :D

Pour the cream mixture over your blueberries in the pie shell, (Careful! It will be VERY full!) You might want to place the pie on a cookie sheet just in case the pie overflows!

Put it in the preheated oven and bake for 35-42 minutes or until it is a  light golden brown on top.

(As you can see, my pie did overflow. The fresh berries have so much more juice then store bought or frozen! Yummy! Thank goodness I put it on a cookie sheet!)

Let it cool on a wire rack, then store it in the fridge (Best when eaten chilled)
Cut, Serve, and ENJOY!!!!!

Shalom everyone!
